There is a family here in the church going through a pretty trying time. In early July 10 year old Shelby Simpson was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a type of soft tissue cancer. You can follow her at www.caringbridge.org/visit/shelbysimpson You can also purchase their Hope for Shelby Bracelets
The Simpson family regularly attends the 9:00 service and they are an absolute delight! Any thoughts and prayers going out to them are appreciated more than you will probably realize.
Thursday November 4th at Crestridge Elementary there is a benefit dinner and silent auction for Shelby, they are making up a ton of BBQ and it is going to be great! See you there!
After a change in plans, Joplin took us and changed us into a family. It was an intense trip, we spent a whole week helping pick up crumbled lives and helping to make them whole again. We are so glad that we got the oppotunity to work for the people of Joplin and we are grateful for all of the people that supported us to get there and that supported us while we were there.
Who loves happy hour at sonic? I do, I do! Come Join me at Sonic on fridays between 2 and 4 PM and i will buy you something to snack on! We alternate between the Sonics on 144th and Maple and the one on 156 and Q. Email me to find out which one we are at this week!

We didn't make it to St. Louis. as we got closer to the trip, Joplin Missouri had a big tornado on May 22. We back pedaled and replanned. To Joplin we went and Joplin needed us. after a week of being, our group realized that we needed Joplin.

Deep End Youth Ministry has a couple of different facets, Sunday Morning Deep End which is like Sunday school, Devos which is kind of like a small group get together, and then some special events from time to time.
Sunday Morning Deep End is kind of like Sunday School for teens. We do some music, and talk about or act out bible stories and have some good fellowship. Everyone grades 7-12 is invited to this wonderful get together. This is only at the 9:00 AM Service. During the 10:30 Service our worship band practices.
Devos are our small group get togethers. We split up by age Junior high and Senior high. Junior high (7th and 8th grades) meet from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on Wednesdays and spend their time making music, playing games and discussing topics that are relevant to their lives today. Our Senior High (9th - 12th grades) meet on Sunday nights from 6:30 - 8:00. They do much of the same things as the junior high, but they do it older.
On the first wednesday of each month we have a themed potluck! Everyone brings food and we share a meal together. We also have a contemporary kind of worship service. Everyone including parents are invited to check these out. These are all ages and everyone is welcome!
Finally we have some other activities that we do on weekends and such. Service projects and fun days, retreats, fundraisers and all sorts of other things. Keep your eyes on the calendar and look for these! Often we need parents to help with these things and we look forward to hanging out with you!
